The well-patinated pear-shaped vase rises to a slender waisted neck. The exterior is carved with six lobes extending from the rim to the foot. The base is conformingly carved with a stylised mallow flower.
A similar-shaped ivory vase from Sir Victor Sassoon Chinese Ivories Trust (T46) is published in Chinese Ivories from Shang to Qing, London, 1984, p. 167, Catalogue No. 214.
