A BAMBOO ‘CHILONG’ DRAGON BRUSHREST

17TH CENTURY

LENGTH: 12.7CM

The brushrest is carved in openwork in the form of two confronted chilong dragons resting on a stem of lingzhi fungus, their tails coiled around it. One dragon playfully tries to bite the other’s tail. The bamboo surface is richly patinated.
