A ROOT-WOOD SCULPTURE

QING DYNASTY (1644-1911)

HEIGHT (WITH STAND): 27.7CM

The vertical wood sculpture rests on a wooden stand and is naturalistically formed. The root is covered by a thin layer of lacquer and has an overall brownish black patina. Its texture is similar to that of a limestone Ying rock.
