MING DYNASTY, 16-17TH CENTURY
The box is of compressed circular form. The cover depicts an elder resting on an elevated diaper platform beneath a large pine tree overlooking a waterfall between jagged cliffs. The bottom is decorated with pine and waterfalls divided by rock formations and rests on an unusual shallow petal-shaped foot. The side of the box is decorated with a solid wavy band and the interior of the cover and box are lacquered black.
