A ZITAN FOLIATED BRUSHPOT

MING DYNASTY (1368-1644)

HEIGHT: 14.5CM

The brushpot is carved from a single piece of hollowed zitan with a separate base plate. It is overall cylindrical in form and of slightly barbed outline with vertical panels supported on three shallow feet. The colour is of an attractive deep chocolate brown tone.
