The bamboo root is carved in the form of a dramatic rocky landscape with a water buffalo in the middle of a levelled plane. The buffalo stands under a densely carved pine tree growing alongside a large overhanging pierced rock. The bamboo is patinated to a deep caramel colour and raised on a hongmu stand.
