A JADE FINGER CITRON

MING DYNASTY (1368-1644)

LENGTH: 9.4CM

The variegated grey and black calcified surface, often referred to as ‘chicken bone’ jade, is carved following the original pebble form into the shape of a finger citrus with curling finger-like extremities issuing from an openwork leafy branch, with a smaller fruit growing alongside it.
