A ROOTWOOD SCULPTURE

Qing Dynasty (1644-1911)

Height (Including Stand): 35cm

The sculpture is made from a single heavily gnarled rootwood section, tapering and twisting at the waist. The rootwood is well patinated to a lustrous deep brown colour and is mounted on an elevated Suzhou-type hongmu stand.
