The flask is thinly-potted with a moulded and incised decoration imitating basketweave with two small rope handles flanking the neck. A translucent glaze of warm ivory colour covers the entire vessel, after Ding Wares of the Song dynasty.
A similar vase is published in the National Palace Museum’s book 古色：十六 至十八世紀藝術的仿古風 Through the Prism of the Past: Antiquarian Trends in Chinese Art of the 16th to 18th Century, 2003, p. 170, Catalogue No. III-38.
