17TH CENTURY
LENGTH (INCLUDING HANDLES): 12.3CM
The cup is carved in the shape of a five-petalled mallow flower. The petals thicken at the edge, mimicking the outward curling of the petals. The cup is flanked by a coiled bamboo section forming its handle and rests on a shallow footring. The agate is of a warm translucent tone with traces of white and brown speckled inclusions and is polished to a glossy finish.
