A Yellow Jade Carving of a Ram

Song Dynasty (960-1279)

Length: 6.8cm

The jade is carved in the shape of a recumbent ram with its legs tucked beneath its body, its head is turned to the right with two horns tucked behind its ears.

The jade is greenish-yellow in colour with russet inclusions and polished to a satin finish.
