Qing Dynasty, Yongzheng Mark and of the Period (1722-1735)
The porcelain box and cover is modelled in the form of a peach and covered in a cool lavender glaze suffused in places with copper red sprays. The flat base is incised with a four-character Yongzheng Nianzhi 雍正年製 mark under a clear glaze.
A Yongzheng-period pear-shaped vase with similar lavender glaze with copper sprays from the The Baur Collection Geneva is published in Chinese Ceramics Volume Three: Monochrome-Glazed Porcelains of the Ch’ing Dynasty, 1972, Catalogue No. A353.
