The bronze brushrest is cast in the form of five peaks. A monkey sits on the central peak while four swallows are each respectively perched on the other four. A recumbent deer with its head turned back lies at the base of the mountain. The surface is sparsely accented with gilding on the foliage and animals.
The bronze is patinated to a greenish brown tone.
