The bronze censer is of compressed globular form with an incurved shoulder and rests on a high flared footring. The surface is covered with a rich reddishbrown patina with irregular gilt splashes throughout the body and along the rounded handles. A six-character ‘Da Ming Xuande Nianzhi’ 大明宣德年製 mark is cast in relief within a rectangular recessed cartouche on the base.
