A ROOTWOOD RUYI SCEPTRE

QING DYNASTY (1644-1911)

LENGTH: 37.2CM

The sceptre is naturalistically carved out of a gnarled section of rootwood. The handle is enhanced with three stylised heads of lingzhi fungus. The surface of the ruyi is covered with a warm brown patina.
