A GREY YING SCHOLAR’S ROCK

MING DYNASTY (1368-1644)

HEIGHT: 60.2CM

The vertical limestone has a tapered waist under a heavy, sloping overhang. The stone is dark brownish grey in colour and well-patinated to a glossy surface with characteristic jagged peaks and uneven ridges balanced on a narrow Suzhoutype footed stand.
