A BAMBOO ROOT SEAL

QING DYNASTY (1644-1911)

SEAL FACE LENGTH: 3.9CM

The seal is cut from a square section of a bamboo root with the surface of the seal face left uncarved and its knop issuing a natural, irregular network of bamboo roots. The bamboo root is well patinated to a caramel brown tone.
