QING DYNASTY, 18TH CENTURY
DIAMETER: 6.8CM
The box is of compressed circular form, and is raised on a tapered foot. The box and the cover have been left largely undecorated to emphasize the beauty of the natural grain of the zitan wood, with the exception of a thin raised ring encircling the cover’s flat top as well as bands around the edges and along the rims. The box rests on a matching zitan three-legged stand supported on everted scroll feet.
