The crystal washer is carved in the form of a curled lotus leaf with a small duck with its upturned head sitting inside it, flanked by two smaller lotus flowers on the exterior of the vessel, all bounded together by their stems. The washer rests on an openwork hongmu stand decorated with a similar motif.
