The parfumier is carved from a hollowed cylindrical section of an ivory tusk and bounded on either side by buffalo horn fittings. The ivory is carved in pierced decoration depicting a landscape scene of a fisherman on a boat and a farmer riding a water buffalo near an empty pavilion.
