The bronze paperweight is cast in the form of a carp with a ruyi sceptre clutched in its mouth and resting on an openwork pedestal in the shape of an infinity knot. The head, tail and fins are gilded the body is accented with splashes of gilding. The bronze is of a pale yellowish-brown colour.
