The deep U-shaped body is raised on a short foot and flanked by two lion-mask handles, all between a keyfret band at the rim and a band of lotus lappets at the base. Cast to the base with a recessed rectangular cartouche bearing an apocryphal six-character Xuande mark 大明宣德年製. The bronze is patinated to a warm brown tone liberally splashed with gold.
