A CARVED ROCK CRYSTAL SEAL

QING DYNASTY, 18TH CENTURY

WIDTH: 5.1CM;
LENGTH: 5.1CM

The seal is of square form and is surmounted with a turtle with its head turned sideways. The seal face is carved in relief with the characters ‘zhi cun gao yuan’ 志存高遠 (‘Let the Will Have Lofty and Far-reaching Aspirations’) within a square border.
