QING DYNASTY, 18TH CENTURY
DIAMETER: 8.8CM
The pebble is finely carved into the form of a goose with its head turned sharply and resting on its back. The well-defined plumage is finely incised, while the bottom of the pebble reveals two webbed feet carved in shallow relief. Traces of the white jade’s russet skin remain on various parts of the body.
