AN IVORY BRUSHREST

Ming Dynasty (1368-1644)

Length: 9.8cm

The brushrest is carved from a semi-circular section of ivory. It is minimally decorated with five shallow peaks and rests on a thin wooden base. The ivory is well patinated with natural age cracks.
