SONG DYNASTY (960-1279)

The mythical bird is depicted recumbent with its tucked wings
detailed with fine plumage and legs folded underneath its body. Its
crowned head delicately worked with almond-shaped eyes and a short
wattled beak. The stone is of a greenish yellow tone suffused with
russet-brown inclusions.
