A WHITE JADE ‘MOUNTAIN’ BRUSHREST

The flat pebble is worked into a horizontal mountain landscape formed from undulating peaks and rocky outcrops. One side depicts a deer standing on a rocky ledge below gnarled leafy branches of fruiting peaches and a flying bat; the reverse is carved with a crane hovering above a small shrub of lingzhi in the bottom right corner. The translucent stone is of a milky-white tone mottled with black flecks and russet inclusions.
