Incense Implements

A BLANC-DE-CHINE TRIPOD CENSER

17TH CENTURY

DIAMETER: 13.3CM

Based on an archaic bronze lian-form prototype, the censer is cylindrical in form and potted with high walls with a thick everted lip supported by three cloudshaped feet. The censer is moulded in shallow relief with kui dragons amidst a scrolling keyfret design, between two thick bands around the length of the vessel.
