An Ivory Box and Cover

Qing Dynasty, 18th Century

Diameter: 7.8cm

The eight-lobed box and its cover are carved in high relief and decorated on the top with a chime flanked by a group of two persimmons, a lotus flower, a bat and two carp, all against a dense swastika pattern.
